Due to the Federal Government shutdown and widening economic challenges, the demand on local food banks has surged, making holiday fundraising efforts essential this year.
Helping Hands of Trigg County held its annual Christmas Food Drive on Thursday afternoon at Hancock’s Neighborhood Market, drawing community members and longtime supporters.
During the two-hour broadcast on 106.5 WKDZ, approximately $23,595 was raised.
The biggest donation came from the Cadiz Rotary Club, with President Beth Sumner presenting the check.
