James D. “Jim” Winstead, age 70, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. The family has chosen cremation with a Family and Friends gathering to be held from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mr. Winstead was born in Hopkinsville, KY, on December 2, 1955, the son of the late Roy Denton Winstead and Pearl Hammonds Winstead. He was a Christian and business owner and operator of Winstead Concrete. Jim had previously worked for PWR Construction as a concrete construction worker.
Survivors include his daughter, Amanda Winstead of Hopkinsville, KY; and his sister and brother in law, Ellen (Larry) Contri of Murray, KY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Christian County Humane Society at 1229 Skyline Drive Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
