A Hopkinsville man was charged after a fight on North McPherson Avenue in Hopkinsville Saturday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 43-year-old Leon Davie got into a fight with a woman, then hit her in the head with a hammer.
Davie then fled from law enforcement on foot when they arrived, but was quickly apprehended. The woman was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health for treatment.
Davie is charged with first-degree assault, third-degree fleeing or evading police, alcohol intoxication in a public place, and tampering with physical evidence.
