Romie Dell Reid, age 80, of Hopkinsville passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Jennie Stuart Health of natural causes.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Dorsey officiating and burial to follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with full military honors. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the service hour at 1:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mr. Reid was born on February 10, 1945, in Allegre, KY, the son of the late Jefferson and Ruthel Stokes Reid. Romie proudly served and retired from the United States Army and as a recruiter from the Kentucky National Guard, for 27 years, receiving many honorable awards. He attended Trenton Assembly of God, and the Rock Steady Boxing Group at the YMCA. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two brothers, Jerry Reid and Rondal Reid.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Ann Fowler Reid of Hopkinsville; his son, Bobby (Michelle) Reid of Hopkinsville; his daughter, Angela Reid of Hopkinsville; and his grandson, Ryan Reid of Hopkinsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
