A Texas man was charged after he tried to meet up with a juvenile on Facebook on Friday night.
Hopkinsville Police say they were told 31-year-old Matthew Deplois of Livingston, Texas, tried to meet up with a 16-year-old girl from Facebook to hang out in a hotel after making inappropriate statements to her and acknowledging it would be against the law.
At one point, he reportedly told her he wished she had lied about her age. The teenager reportedly gave her boyfriend’s phone number instead of her own to Deplois.
Deplois was arrested and charged with procuring or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means.
