This January, the Christian County Chamber of Commerce will host two events aimed at helping employers learn how to partner with local schools and engage students through real-world learning opportunities.
The first event, “Learn & Thrive: The Co-Op Student Experience,” takes place Tuesday, January 13, at 8:30 a.m. at the Pennyrile Rural Electric Community Room.
The panel discussion will feature high school students sharing how work-based learning and co-op experiences build confidence and career readiness. The event is designed for businesses and organizations of all sizes interested in supporting and benefiting from student partnerships.
The second event is the Christian County Eye Opener Breakfast, titled “Partners in Possibility: Igniting Futures Together,” scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, at 7:15 a.m. at The Silo.
The breakfast will focus on the impact of collaboration between schools and businesses in strengthening the workforce and preparing students for future success.
Featured speaker Dr. Kimberly Fifer, a national leader in educational innovation and community coach for Ford Next Generation Learning, will discuss the importance of employer engagement in education. Dr. Fifer brings more than 26 years of experience in education and has also served as an assistant superintendent and chamber president in Indiana.
Both events are open to chamber members and non-members, but registration is required. To register, visit christiancountychamber.com under the events tab or call the Christian County Chamber of Commerce.
