Oscar Quarles, 74, of Columbus, Georgia

Oscar Quarles, age 74, of Columbus, Georgia, entered eternal rest on December 25, 2025, in Phenix City, Alabama.

He was born on July 8, 1951, in Christian County, Kentucky, to the late Ruebest Quarles Sr. and Virginia L. Quarles.

Oscar honorably served his country in the United States Army for more than 30 years prior to his retirement. His commitment and dedication to military service reflected a strong sense of duty and patriotism. In his leisure time, he found joy in spending meaningful moments with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Emma Grubbs; and his brothers, Ruebest Quarles Jr., Charles Grubbs Jr., and Carl Quarles.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Dorothy Quarles; his beloved children, Diane Quarles-Hartman, Dana Quarles, and Leon Miller; his brother, James Quarles; and his sisters, Lois Barney (Alfred) and Deborah McKnight (Barry), along with other relatives and friends who will forever remember him.

Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Services will be on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 1:30 pm at the Mount Olive Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.

Visitation will begin on Friday at 9:30 at the church.
