Several officers were recognized for their work in a situation with a barricaded individual on November 3rd, 2025.
Hopkinsville Police say Dispatch Supervisor Allison Summers, Dispatcher Cassidy Jackson, Detective and Negotiator Jonathan Sholar, and Detective and Negotiator Nina Bond were given the distinguished group award for their efforts in negotiating with an individual who had barricaded himself in a house.
The man had reportedly made threats to harm himself and officers, but after a 4-hour negotiation process, he exited the home unarmed, and the situation was settled peacefully.
The officers were commended for their professionalism and ability to work as a group to overcome a stressful situation.
