Wayne Walker, age 83, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz.
He was born on October 6, 1942, in Cadiz, to Prentis Walker and Jewell Garvin Walker, who preceded him in death.
Wayne was a proud graduate of Trigg County High School, class of 1960. After schooling, he dedicated himself to a career as a self-employed contractor, where he utilized his remarkable carpentry skills and attention to detail. On December 12, 1982, he married Glenda Terrell Walker. Wayne cherished Glenda and was a dedicated partner throughout their years together.
Wayne served in the Army Reserves and was of the Baptist faith. He was passionate about giving back and participated in numerous mission trips. He was also a man of many talents. He enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for many birthdays and special occasions. He loved music, enjoyed singing, and was known as a great conversationalist, relishing the opportunity to share stories with others.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Glenda Terrell Walker, of Cadiz; his children, Jodi Wilson (Lynn), of Cadiz, Amy Serrano (Jose), of Bowling Green, KY, and Jason Walker, of Hopkinsville, KY; his brother, Darrell Walker (Teresa), of Cadiz; seven grandchildren: Lanny Holeman (Sandra), Franklin Serrano, Kevin Nguyen, Elijah Serrano, Isaiah Serrano, Jonathan Wilson (Amarylis), and Chase Wilson; and four great-grandchildren: Elida, Ardun & Iden Wilson, and Daxter Lange.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 9, 2026, with Bro. John Mitchell and Bro. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville.
