In the late hours of Wednesday, Trigg County’s Lauren Fowler announced she will seek a third term as the community’s Property Valuation Administrator.

Fowler has spent nearly 16 years working in the courthouse annex and county offices. She began her public service career with the PVA office as a part-time employee from 2010 to 2012 before moving to a full-time position in the Trigg County Clerk’s Office from 2012 to 2014 under then-County Clerk Dorris McGill.

In 2014, Fowler returned to the PVA office, working full-time under PVA Michael T. Bryan until his retirement in 2018.

Fowler was elected PVA in 2018 following a three-way Republican primary, and she secured the position again in 2022 after another three-way Republican primary — finishing as the top vote-getter both times.

She believes the 2026 election cycle will differ from previous races. Following the statewide PVA examination administered in mid-November, officials announced that no additional Trigg County residents passed the exam, which is required to qualify for the office.

As a result, Fowler is expected to run unopposed in the upcoming election.

Looking ahead, Fowler said she plans to continue providing customer-focused service while staying current on state laws and advancing technology to meet the county’s assessment needs. Her office oversees assessments related to real property, personal property, motor vehicles and boats.

In a letter to the News Edge, Fowler also expressed appreciation for the support she has received throughout her career and acknowledged WKDZ for its coverage of local elections and candidates over the years.
