A Hopkinsville man was charged with assaulting a woman on Sivley Road in Hopkinsville Tuesday night.
Hopkinsville Police say 34-year-old James Himmelhaver kept his girlfriend in a room for several hours and assaulted her.
She reportedly suffered Injuries to her face from the assault. Himmelhaver was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and kidnapping.
