Trigg County Sheriff Candidates discussed accountability, 24-hour law enforcement coverage, and unity during Thursday’s Republican forum.
Incumbent Sheriff Aaron Acree and challenger Mike Sandbrink each had five minutes to talk about their qualifications and answer questions posed by 1st District Republican party Vice-Chairman Frank Amaro.
Sheriff Aaron Acree was the first to take the podium where he discussed his law enforcement experience and touted accomplishments during his time as the top county law enforcement officer.
Mike Sandbrink said his experience at Trigg County Sheriff’s Department and the Christian County Jail qualify him to lead the Sheriff’s Department.
Sandbrink said his number one priority is accountability.
Acree says it is up to the voters to decide the future direction for the sheriff’s department.
When asked about what is needed most in Trigg County, Acree said unity.
Sandbrink focused his answer on bridging the gap with the community.
Candidates for Trigg County Judge Executive, Jailer, and Magistrate also participated in the forum.
