Authorities remind everyone to check on friends and family members after a woman was found outside her home deceased on Friday night.

Christian County Assistant Coroner Christy Adams says they have had a few calls of people found deceased, with one woman who is in her 60’s found outside the home frozen, along with others found deceased inside homes during this very cold weather.

Adams says in all the cases it appears a medical problem led to the deaths, but checking on your friends, family, and neighbors is extremely important all the time, but much more during the weather we have been having.

Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says they have responded to several calls of people falling on ice. He added that the elderly or those who have problems walking already are at a very high risk of falling due to the icy conditions.

If you are unable to get out to check on someone, a welfare check can be done by calling the non-emergency number to your local dispatch, as listed below.
