The Cadiz Sonic Drive-In is under new ownership following a major acquisition by KBP Brands.
The Leawood, Kansas-based franchisee announced this week it has purchased 78 Sonic locations, including the Cadiz restaurant, which was previously corporate-owned. The deal doubles KBP Brands’ footprint in the Sonic system, making them the fourth-largest franchisee for the drive-in chain.
KBP Brands already operates over 1,100 restaurants nationwide, including KFC and Taco Bell.
CEO Mike Kulp stated the company has seen “strong results” since first acquiring Sonic locations in 2024.
