Hopkinsville Applies for Greenway Trail Grant

The Hopkinsville Greenway System could undergo an expansion in the future.

Tuesday night, the Hopkinsville City Council approved applying for a $5 million grant to finish the greenway trail all the way to the Tie Breaker Park facilities, including Bluegrass Splash.

Councilman Chuck Crabtree says that facility factors into his support.

In other business, the City Council approved the second reading of the ordinance to raise council members’ and the mayor’s salaries. While not the original 57 percent raise, the ordinance does provide a three percent raise for the council starting in January. Council members Sumner, Don Marsh, and Mike Velez voted no.
