Christian County Public Schools has announced the upcoming retirement of Kim Lint, principal at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Early Learning Center, effective April 1.
Superintendent Chris Bentzel thanked Lint for her leadership and dedication to early childhood education, noting her impact on the district’s youngest students and their families. Lint is retiring after 31 years in education, including the past seven years with the district.
Following her announcement, the district named Michelle Walden as interim principal. Walden has served as Director of Elementary Education since July 2025 and is currently in her 25th year with Christian County Public Schools.
Walden began her career in 2001 as a teacher at Pembroke Elementary and later taught at Lacy Elementary before serving as an instructional coach and assistant principal at Indian Hills Elementary. She has also worked as an elementary instructional supervisor and district instructional supervisor for elementary education.
District leaders say Walden’s experience in early and elementary instruction will help provide stability for students, staff and families during the transition. The district plans to post the principal position soon and begin the process of selecting a permanent replacement.
