A new dispatcher was welcomed to Christian County after completing the academy on Friday.
The Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training announced Katelyn McWaters has graduated from the Department of Criminal Justice Training Public Safety Academy, along with 28 others.
McWaters will be starting as a dispatcher for the Hopkinsville Police Department.
She received 164 hours of academy instructions that included radio procedures, handling of emergency and non-emergency calls, and using the state and national criminal databases.
