A woman died not long after arriving at the jail on West 7th Street in Hopkinsville on Saturday morning.

Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says they were called for a woman in her 30’s that was possibly overdosing and performed life-saving measures, but were not able to bring her back.

The Christian County Coroner’s Office says they pronounced 31-year-old Zoe Johnson of Brentwood, Tennessee, dead at the scene and her body will be sent for an autopsy.

Johnson was taken to the jail on a charge of possession of opiates.
