A Hopkinsville man was charged with assaulting and choking a woman on Sivley Road in Hopkinsville on Monday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called for a woman yelling “Help I’m trapped, he won’t let me leave.” and found a woman who claimed she and 21-year-old Thorsten Becker were having consensual sex and he passed out then got angry saying he wasn’t done when he woke up.
Police say he then held her down and choked her before pulling a knife to keep her from leaving and she scratched him and fled the apartment.
Becker was arrested and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place, fourth-degree assault, first-degree strangulation, and first-degree unlawful imprisonment.
