A controlled burn at Land Between The Lakes leaves several counties in smoke Saturday afternoon.
Authorities with Land Between The Lakes say they started a control burn this morning at 10:00 a.m. of 1,105 acres west of Brandon Spring and 1,100 acres at the Prior Creek area along the Woodlands Trace just south of the Homeplace.
The burns are to reduce leaf litter and promote wildlife habitat. The smoke from the fires can be seen in all surrounding counties.
