A man with a warrant for fleeing from law enforcement was charged after he reportedly fled from law enforcement again on Walnut Street in Hopkinsville on Saturday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Steven Cager for passing vehicles at a high rate of speed and driving on the opposite side of the road.

He reportedly pulled over, got out, fled on foot, and wouldn’t follow officers’ commands to put his hands behind his back, and was tased.

Police say they could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from him, and an open alcoholic beverage container, a large quantity of marijuana, and a digital scale were found in his vehicle.

He was also found to have a warrant for first-degree fleeing or evading police, DUI second offense, no tail lamps, no registration plates, failure to or improper signal, reckless driving, and possession of marijuana.

In connection with the Saturday foot pursuit, he was also charged with trafficking marijuana, improper passing, failure to wear a seat belt, DUI, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, second and third-degree fleeing or evading police.
