A man was injured in a crash involving a school bus on North Drive in Hopkinsville on Tuesday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say at 2:31 pm, a truck driven by 67-year-old James White collided with a school bus driven by 69-year-old Anthony Harris of Hopkinsville as the bus pulled out of the Freedom Elementary parking lot, causing White’s truck to run off the road.

Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says Harris and the kids on the bus were not injured, adding that White was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Health to be flown to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for possible internal injuries.

Police say that, after reviewing video footage of the crash and speaking with witnesses, it was discovered that Harris pulled into the path of White’s truck. Harris was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way and careless driving.

White remains at the hospital in stable condition, according to the hospital.
