Trigg County’s Local Emergency Planning Committee met last Friday morning, and observed a few first quarter updates surrounding the community’s collective emergency response.

The LEPC only took one action, approving Emergency Management’s David Bryan and Paula Flood to go ahead and purchase a 100-inch television for the EOC building, replacing the projector. Valued at roughly $1,600, the upgraded technology will allow for better digital presentations at the facility, and allow for improved review of static overlays.

Meanwhile, Bryant confirmed that a larger generator has been installed for the Pennyrile Health Department.

Hopefully, Bryant said, it never has to be used, but in the event — it is ready.

In other LEPC news:

+ Bryant also confirmed that the Friends of LBL Car Show, held two weekends ago, brought in more than 250 different vehicles from around the region, and more than 1,000 visitors.

+ Trigg County is covered by nine different fire departments, most of them voluntary. Michael Parker is the new chief of the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department, located at 215 Hammond Lake Road.

+ Look for representatives from both Fort Campbell, as well as Wabash, to become more active in response discussions. Adam Vanderkolk, an Army career counselor, and Logan Choat, an environmental health and safety manager, were both in attendance.

+ Brandon Calhoun, Trigg County’s road supervisor, said the process tearing out and replacing North Tanyard Bridge is “well underway,” and that their next effort is preparing for mowing season.
