An investigation into a physical and sexual assault at a campground in Lyon County has led to the arrest of an Illinois man on multiple charges.
Kentucky State Police say 28-year-old Timothy Doe of Chicago was taken into custody after a victim told Indiana police she was held against her will in a camper at the Eddy Vegas Campground in Eddyville earlier this month.
Authorities say the victim reported she was physically and sexually abused before she was finally able to escape and return home to Indiana.
According to police, Doe was originally picked up in Eddyville on an arrest warrant for first-degree strangulation on April 10th, but detectives say further evidence led to more charges. Doe is now charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, and kidnapping.
He is lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
State Police say the investigation is ongoing and ask anyone with information about the incident or any previous encounters with Doe to contact Post 1 at (270) 856-3721.
