Marion Wilford, Sr., 87, of Trigg County

Marion Wilford, Sr., son of the late Edgar and Laura Dillard Wilford, was born January 26, 1939, in Trigg County, Kentucky.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and joined the Montgomery Elizabeth Baptist Church. He kept the lawn manicured and took care of the concrete work around the Church. He also did jobs for Dixie Pavers, West State Construction, Hall Construction, and Wilford and Son Construction. For twenty-five years, Marion was a Foster Parent.

Marion was a very hard worker. He was a contractor for Sharco Paving for sixty years; he retired twice. Marion enjoyed spending time with his family, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends on Sundays. He also enjoyed prepping the food for the Wilford and Dillard reunion. He loved hunting, watching Walker Texas Ranger, Sanford and Son, and going to the Casino.

On Monday, April 20, 2026, Marion departed from this life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Wilford, and son Marion Wilford, Jr., a great-grandchild, Michael Sivils, Jr., siblings, Ben Wilford, Sr., Edmond Wilford, Betty Wilford Bingham, Julia Wilford Blaine, Leonard Wilford, Walker Wilford, Forrest Wilford, Alvin Wilford, Darlene Wilkerson, and Mary Jones.

He leaves to mourn his passing, four children, Dr. Chester (Linda) Crump, Calisa Grooms, Thelma Little, Thalisa Wilford; adopted son, Ralph Metts; sister, Della Wilford; five grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; special friends, Harold Moss, James Oldham, and John Stem; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 25th, at Noon at Gamble Funeral Home in Hopkinsville. Burial will follow at Trigg Memory Acres.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday.
