A Merrillville, Indiana, man was charged in connection with a bank fraud scheme at the Oak Grove Navy Federal Credit Union.

Oak Grove Police say 55-year-old Wendell Christmas played a key role in coordinating and recruiting individuals to assume stolen identities to steal funds from the victims.

Christmas and his accomplices were reportedly able to take over $25,000 from a victim in Oak Grove.

He was arrested in Illinois and will be extradited to Kentucky to face charges of theft by unlawful taking and unlawful access to a computer. Police say he is the second arrest in the investigation.
