Hopkinsville Police have had a very busy first quarterly, despite decreases in major crime.
During a recent quarterly update, Police Chief Jason Newby told the City Council officers have responded to nearly 10,000 calls for service.
click to download audioAnother highlight was the amount of drugs seized before they were sold on the streets.
click to download audioIn addition, Police seized 25 guns during the first 3 months of the year. Officers also investigated 2 rapes, 7 robberies, 22 assaults, 22 burglaries, 109 larcenies, and 5 auto thefts. Newby says statistically these crimes have been trending down over the last three years.
