Christian County Public Schools Superintendent Chris Bentzel has announced that Matt Francies will serve as the next principal at Indian Hills Elementary School beginning July 1.
Francies has served as assistant principal at Indian Hills for the past nine years and brings 18 years of experience in education to the position. Superintendent Bentzel praised Francies for his leadership, consistency, and commitment to students, staff, and the school community, saying his experience makes him well prepared to lead the school moving forward.
Before joining Indian Hills in 2017, Francies taught Health and Physical Education for three years in Memphis, Tennessee, and later spent six years teaching at Christian County High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Murray State University and his master’s degree from University of Texas at Arlington.
Francies says he is honored and excited to transition into the principal’s role, adding that he looks forward to continuing the work already underway at Indian Hills while supporting students, staff, and families through strong relationships and high expectations.
He lives in Hopkinsville with his wife, Lacey, and their two children.
