
This week is Spring Severe Weather Awareness Week across the Commonwealth and the National Weather Service in Paducah hosted a special kickoff event Monday morning near Dawson Springs.
The event was hosted by Warning Coordination Meteorologist Christine Wielgos and featured discussions from various community partners on how they handle severe weather.
Among the speakers was Edge Media Group President Beth Mann, who emphasized the importance of building relationships with listeners.
Mann added this week is an excellent opportunity for both the public and her staff to prepare for the upcoming severe weather season.
She shared the importance of having a plan ready to implement when severe weather occurs.
Mann was accompanied by Lyon County Emergency Manager Randy Wright, Caldwell County Emergency Manager Joey McCaslin, Hopkins County Emergency Manager Nick Bailey, Christian County Emergency Manager Randy Graham, and others.
