Grand Jury Issues Indictments in Cases of Assault, Child Abuse, and Shooting Incidents

The Christian County Grand Jury handed down several indictments Friday involving cases of assault, wanton endangerment, and child abuse.

A true bill was returned on Culliyon McKnight of Hopkinsville on a charge of first-degree assault.

The charges are from a July 6 shooting on Boales Street, where Hopkinsville Police said they found a juvenile with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Officers said they received a second call that McKnight had shown up at the hospital and had been grazed by a bullet, leading to a head injury.

Police reported that both were flown to Nashville hospital, and McKnight was later arrested in connection with the shooting.

Walter Bryson of Oak Grove was indicted on a charge of first-degree assault.

Bryson is accused of stabbing a man in the neck several times during an argument on Pembroke Oak Grove Road on July 19th. Oak Grove Police said the man who was stabbed was taken by ambulance to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville with severe injuries.

The grand jury indicted Timothy McWilliams of Hopkinsville on charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, and three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment – discharge of a firearm.

The charges are from July 3rd when Hopkinsville Police responded to reports of shots fired into a home on McLean Avenue. According to police, video footage showed McWilliams firing three shots at an individual, causing damage to the door and walls before leaving the scene. Police also reported that he pointed a gun at a second person during the incident.

Todd Rudolph of Hopkinsville was indicted on charges of third-degree assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, harassment with physical contact, alcohol intoxication, 3rd offense, failure to notify address change to the Department of Transportation, and another harassment offense for threatening bodily harm.

Rudolph was arrested on July 7 after Hopkinsville Police said officers stopped him for following his ex-girlfriend on West 1st Street several times and attempted to assault her.

Police said Rudolph was under the influence of alcohol and resisted arrest, kicked an officer twice, and spat on his ex-girlfriend’s friend.

A true bill was returned on Brandon Wyatt of Hopkinsville on a charge of first-degree child abuse of a child 12 or under.

According to the indictment, on or about July 27th, Wyatt allegedly abused a minor child under the age of twelve, causing serious injury or placing her in a situation that may cause serious physical injury.
