The Stadium of Champions was filled with hope, remembrance, and community support during the 8th Annual Hopkinsville “Out of the Darkness” Suicide Awareness Walk. Hosted in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), the event honored the lives lost to suicide while offering strength and encouragement to those still struggling.

Participants took part in a meaningful walk symbolizing a journey of remembrance and healing, with opportunities to connect with local resources such as Pennyroyal Center and Cumberland Hall Hospital, who continue to be faithful supporters. The event also featured a Sands Ceremony and the distribution of honor beads, providing powerful moments of reflection and unity.

The walk was made possible through the generosity of sponsors, including Jerry’s Express Car Wash for their in-kind donation and billboard advertisement. Together, the community came out to raise awareness, foster hope, and carry forward AFSP’s mission: to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.
