An Oak Grove man was charged with assaulting a woman on Van Buren Avenue in Oak Grove Friday morning.
Oak Grove Police say they were called for a disturbance with a woman screaming and found 35-year-old Hasaan Slaughter, who would not open the door and became argumentative, leading law enforcement to kick open the door.
The woman found inside reportedly had no clothing on, was crying, had problems breathing and walking.
Police say Slaughter, who was on the phone, said he was going to jail and was taken into custody for second-degree assault.
The woman was taken to the hospital, and police say she suffered a collapsed lung, broken ribs, along with several other injuries.
