Thomas Truett Greene, age 83, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026, at his home.
He was born on August 12, 1942, in Rector, Arkansas, to the late Paul Andrew Greene and Maudie Thomas Greene.
Tom had a fulfilling career in management at DuPont in Old Hickory, Tennessee, where he dedicated over 35 years of service before retiring. He was an active member of Gracey West Union Baptist Church, where he found joy in teaching the Senior Sunday School class, sharing his knowledge and love for the Lord with his church family.
Tom enjoyed hunting deer, turkey, and waterfowl, and he was a master gardener. He also enjoyed the art of dance, teaching ballroom dancing in Nashville for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother Ima Dell Noel Greene, his brother Andy Greene, and his infant son Michael Thomas Greene.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Jones Greene, of Cadiz; his son, David Truett Greene (Karen), of Little Rock, Arkansas, and stepsons, Martie Ray Jones (Cheryl) and Shannon O’Neal Jones (Kim), both of Cadiz; his grandchildren, Mallory McNatt (Josh) and Meredith Coy (Mason), and his great-grandchildren, Miller Coy and Leo, Remi, & Jack McNatt.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Gracey West Union Baptist Church, 185 Gracey-Sinking Fork Rd, Gracey, Kentucky, with Brian Hacker presiding. Visitation will precede the service at the church from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz.
