The fate of Bluegrass Splash is still unknown, but city officials are looking for input from residents. Hopkinsville City Councilman Chuck Crabtree proposed forming a committee.
His suggestion comes just days after a young man spoke in favor of renovating the water park during public comments, even offering to share his ideas if given the chance.
Crabtree’s suggestion comes after the city learned it would cost $300-400 thousand dollars to repair existing pipes that are leaking or $3-4 million to remove and replace all the pipes and combat the poor construction of the park.
Councilwoman Brandi Stallons suggested a different first step.
All City Council members were in agreement that a town hall would be beneficial.
