A Hopkinsville man reported an assault, along with a gun stolen on Canton Street on Thursday night.
Hopkinsville Police say someone struck a man in the head, causing a serious injury to his ear, then took his 9 mm handgun that fell out of his pocket.
No arrest has been made, but the report lists the charges as second-degree assault and theft by unlawful taking.
