A law enforcement K9 with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office will receive body armor after a donation.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say K9 Loki will receive a bullet and stab protective vest donated by a non-profit organization called Vested Interest In K9’s, Inc.

The vest was sponsored by Bill Karpuk of Plating Specialties in Madison Heights, Michigan, and will be delivered within 10 weeks.

The vest will be embroidered with the sponsoring company’s name. Deputies say Vested Interest In K9’s, Inc was established in 2009 and has provided over 6,308 vests valued at $6.9 million to K9’s in all 50 states with help from private and corporate donations.

Each vest is valued at $1,800, weighs an average of 4 to 5 pounds, and comes with a 5-year warranty.
