A Hopkinsville man was charged with drug possession after being found asleep in a vehicle on Peggy Lane in Hopkinsville on Friday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they got out with a vehicle in a driveway after a call of a suspicious vehicle and located the driver, 45-year-old Roman Abate, asleep inside.
Officers could reportedly see a bag of meth as Abate got his wallet for them, and he claimed he thought he was in Pembroke at a church.
Police say he claimed he didn’t know there were drugs in the vehicle, or he would have hidden them in his body.
After a field sobriety test, he was arrested and charged with DUI and possession of meth.
