A Hopkinsville man was charged with burglary after he reportedly pushed his way into a home on North Jessup Avenue on Friday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say 27-year-old Brandon Cummings pushed his way into the home when the owner unlocked the door and started arguing with her about his personal property being left outside.
Police say he then slapped her, ripped her clothing, and prevented her from leaving.
She was reportedly able to get away and use someone’s phone to call for law enforcement. Police say he claimed they were arguing and she had kicked him, but he never assaulted her.
Cummings was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.
