Susan Mae Galloway Simmons, age 72, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, at her home from natural causes. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Brother Mike Humble officiating and burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2026. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Susan was born in Evansville, IN, on April 4, 1953, to the late Eulyce Bosley Galloway and Virginia Elizabeth Mitchell Galloway. She was a 1971 graduate of Christian County High School and a 1989 graduate of Hopkinsville Community College with an Associate of Nursing Degree. She worked as a NICU Nurse for Denver Health and Jennie Stuart Medical Center, then retired. Susan enjoyed gardening and loved raising her chickens.
Survivors include her life partner of 20 years, Paul Bean of Hopkinsville; her two sons, Michael Simmons of Erin, TN, Kirk Simmons of Lebanon, TN; her daughter, Krista (Troy) King of Denver, CO; her sister, Sharon Galloway of Pembroke, KY; her four grandchildren, Kaleb Simmons, Logan Shirey, Mack Shirey, Elijah King; and her great grandson.
