A report of a suspicious person led to several charges for a Hopkinsville man on Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called regarding 40-year-old Ronald Robinson, who pulled up next to a vehicle, then got out of his and into the other vehicle, which was occupied, on East 9th Street.

Robinson then reportedly got out and fled on foot before being located on East 19th Street when asked his name, he claimed to be “Ro” and “Little Baby”.

He reportedly told police he was running because he had done a bunch of drugs, then threatened officers.

Police say a gun was found in his vehicle that had been reported stolen in South Carolina. While investigating the incident, he reportedly kicked the officer’s door, breaking the handles and damaging the door.

He was arrested and charged with first-degree criminal mischief, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, public intoxication, receiving stolen property, and third-degree terroristic threatening.
