Families in Hopkinsville will have a chance to get up close with some of the biggest vehicles in the community this weekend, as the popular Touch-A-Truck event returns to DeBow Park.
The free event is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Parks and Rec Superintendent Toby Hudson says the event offers a hands-on experience where children — and adults — can climb aboard fire trucks, sit behind the wheel of semi-trucks, and explore a wide range of heavy equipment and emergency vehicles.

Local first responders and equipment operators will be available to talk with families and demonstrate how the machinery is used in day-to-day operations.
Program Coordinator Jacob Gibson says there will be a designated sensory hour when horns, sirens, and flashing lights will be limited.
