Kenneth Hancock, age 79, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital from natural causes. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Bro. John Walsh and Earl Calhoun officiating, and burial to follow in Flat Lick Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Kenneth was born in Hopkinsville, KY, on July 12, 1946, the son of the late Edwin “Ed” Garner Hancock and Geneva Pauline Pryor Hancock. Kenneth retired from the Hopkinsville Fire Department, but his passion was farming. He started cattle farming in his early years, then became a crop farmer, and retired from farming after the 2024 crop. He served on the board of the Square Deal Volunteer Fire Department, where he remained a member, and served as its Chief for 24 years. He was a former board member for Southern States Co-op. and was a member of Gracey West Union Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Norma Sholar.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Sandra “Sandy” Hancock of Hopkinsville; his son, Ken (Becky) Hancock of Hopkinsville; his daughters, Kim (Tommy) Williams of Hopkinsville, Karyn (Jason) Harper of Cadiz, KY; his ten grandchildren, Kevin Hale, Brandon (Erin) Hale, Andrew (Britney) Hale, Garner Hancock, Kaylee Hancock, Shelby (Brent) McAskill, Tera (Killian) Graves, Paige (Dalton) Upton, Wade Harper, Alexis Harper; and his fifteen great grandchildren, Emma Hale, Evan Hale, Ethan Hale, Gentry Hale, Jack Hale, Lee Ellen Hale, Dalton Chewning, Eli Hale, Amelia Hale, Carter Hale, Kaylon Jackson, Darren Jackson, Andrew McAskill, Sadie Upton, and Lanie Upton.
