A four-vehicle wreck on Interstate 169 in Christian County sent an Ohio man to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say that at 2:36 pm, a northbound car driven by William Steinhoff sideswiped an SUV driven by Anna Getz of Clarksville, then hit a tractor-trailer driven by Husnija Masinovic of Florida.
Steinhoff’s car then reportedly hit the guardrail and collided again with Masinovic’s truck. Deputies say a tire off one of the vehicles then collided with a southbound SUV driven by Emily Robinson of Princeton.
Steinhoff was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health for treatment, then later arrested and charged with first-degree criminal mischief, failure to produce an insurance card, DUI, reckless driving, and four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
Deputies say witnesses stated Steinhoff was speeding along with driving recklessly, and got out of the vehicle after the crash and fell down, hitting his face. Getz had a 2-year-old passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash, but was not injured.
Northbound traffic was temporarily blocked during the investigation between the Russellville Road exit and the Pembroke Road exit on Interstate 169.
