
Christian County Public Schools has announced that Corey Batey will serve as the district’s new Director of Special Education beginning July 1.
Batey currently serves as Assistant Director of Special Education for the district.
Superintendent Chris Bentzel praised Batey’s years of service and leadership, saying her experience and commitment to students make her a strong fit for the position.
Batey has worked in the district for 15 years in several roles, including reading teacher and special education teacher at Hopkinsville Middle School, special education consultant, and assistant director. She holds degrees from Marshall University, Austin Peay State University, and Murray State University, and is also a National Board Certified Teacher.
In a statement, Batey said she is grateful for the opportunity and looks forward to continuing to support students, staff, and families through collaboration and a commitment to student success.
Batey and her husband, Josh, live in Hopkinsville with their daughter, Jaila.
