Robert Howard Watt Radford was born September 23, 1935, in Hopkinsville, the son of the late Marion Sanders and Frank “Parker” James Radford. He passed away on May 18, 2026, at 2:06 a.m. while in the care of Jennie Stuart Health.

At an early age, Radford accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and joined Big Walnut Grove Baptist Church, where he later served as a trustee for many years.

During his career, he worked at several manufacturing plants in Hopkinsville and later for Flynn Enterprises until he retired following a cancer diagnosis in 1985.

Radford enjoyed fishing, gardening, yard work, maintaining his home, caring for his lawn, and working on automobiles. His family said his greatest joy came from spending time with and providing for his loved ones, especially his wife of 69 years, Annie Virginia White Radford.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Radford Jr.; sisters, Susie Bell Sebree and Francis Massie; and brothers, Warfield Radford, Richard Radford, and Fred “Bubba” Radford.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Virginia Radford; daughters, Carolyn Arnell and husband Donald, and Sheila Radford Watkins; son, Lynn Radford and wife Lydia; sister, Gracie Lewis; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family extended special thanks to Sylvia Bussell, Shannon Daniel, Sean Coates, and the staff of Bradford Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Men2Be Incorporated to support mentorship programs for young men in Hopkinsville.
