A Hopkinsville man was charged with taking and breaking a cell phone on North Drive in Hopkinsville on Monday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 36-year-old Devan Matlock took the man’s phone while inside a restaurant, then returned the phone to him broken and threatened to beat him up if he called the police.
Police say Mary Hill, who was with Matlock, was heard telling him, ‘That’s not my phone,’ as they walked out of the restaurant.
Matlock reportedly told police that the phone belonged to Hill and he was only supposed to borrow it, which contained private photos.
Matlock was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal mischief and intimidating a participant in the legal process.
