The streets of downtown Hopkinsville came to life this Thanksgiving morning as the 24th Annual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk stepped off at 8:00, drawing a big crowd ready to kick off the holiday with movement and good company. Hosted by Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation and supported by community sponsors, the free, non-competitive run welcomed everyone — runners, walkers, bikers, skaters and leashed dogs — for a relaxed 3.1-mile route that followed the Greenway Rail Trail and looped back to downtown. This year’s turnout continued to show just how much the Turkey Trot has become part of Thanksgiving Day for families and friends across Hopkinsville.
