Kentucky State Police Celebrates 75th Anniversary With Special Sale Of Iconic Trooper Teddy Bears

Kentucky State Police is announcing a special weekend sale of their iconic Trooper Teddy Bear to honor the agency’s 75th anniversary.

The sale will continue through Monday, November 27, and features the bears which are normally $25, marked down to $19.48. The special price is because KSP was established in 1948.

All proceeds from the sale will benefit the agency’s outreach program, which allows troopers to provide teddy bears to children who have been in traumatic situations such as car crashes, child sexual abuse cases, or dealing with terminal illnesses.

The Trooper Teddy Bears can be purchased here. The program started in December 1989, after Kentucky First Lady Martha Wilkinson hosted a gala fundraiser at Red Mile Racecourse earlier that summer. The black-tie event raised the needed funds to purchase the first 2,000 Trooper Teddy Bears.
