A man was flown to the hospital after he was hit by a vehicle on Interstate 169 in Christian County on Friday morning.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say that at 4:35 am, the man was walking on the side of the interstate when he stepped into traffic and was struck by a vehicle in the southbound lanes near the Fort Campbell Boulevard exit.

Hopkinsville Fire Department Spokesman Captain Payton Rogers says the man was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to meet with a waiting helicopter that flew him to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville due to severe head and arm injuries.
