Trigg County High School has announced the hiring of Andrew Goins as the school’s new assistant principal beginning with the 2026-27 school year.
Goins, a 2005 graduate of the school, returns to his Alma mater after spending nine years as a history teacher and the past eight years in school administration. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history, a master’s degree in teacher leadership, and an education specialist degree in school principalship.
A lifelong resident of Cadiz, Goins said returning to Trigg County High School is both a professional homecoming and an opportunity to continue serving his community. He and his wife, Amanda, and daughter, Alivia, live in Trigg County.
In a statement, Goins shared a quote from Winston Churchill reflecting his philosophy on growth and perseverance: “Continuous effort—not strength or intelligence—is the key to unlocking our potential.”
Most recently, Goins has been serving Christian County Public Schools as a key administrator with Hopkinsville High School, after stepping in as interim Hopkinsville Middle School principal for the 2024-25 academic year.
District officials then credited Goins with successfully leading HMS through its transition to a new campus, while helping unite students and staff during the move. Prior to that, he had more than a decade of education experience. He joined Hopkinsville High School’s teaching staff in 2013 after teaching at Heritage Christian Academy and Paducah Tilghman High School, and he later became assistant principal at Freedom Elementary School in 2019 before returning to Hopkinsville High School as assistant principal and Freshman Academy lead.
Goins earned his undergraduate degree from Murray State University and holds two master’s degrees from University of the Cumberlands.
